Sound problem

Can anyone please tell me what might have happened to my sound?

I'm using XP Home with a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 sound card. A week or
so ago I decided to use headphones to listen to music on the PC late
at night, and I went into the Sound Blaster Audio HQ/Device
Controls/Headphones and clicked on the option to mute speakers when
using headphones. Since then I've had major problems being able to
hear sound when the headphones are unplugged. I've unticked the "mute"
box mentioned above and re=booted etc, but there's no sound when I try
to play a CD, an MP3 etc. However, I do get the Windows sound when
booting.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Many thanks,

Hello!
you may try this one:-

Restore System Default Sounds (Line 6)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.h

Also update the sound card driver.
