On my Windows XP instlled in a Dell computer, sound level varies from
application to application. I have volumn all the way up, and still can
barely if at all hear some internet sound, ads (one advantage there!),
Quicken, Turbotax, etc. Other items such as MSN games sounds are just barely
audible. But screen saver sound, and sign on and sign off chords for windows
just about knock you out of the room. Anyone have any idea what the problem
is?

I just had to readjust Volume Controls because of this. For me, after
adjusting the Master volume and speaker volume, some of the Windows sounds
were still very loud. Nudging the volume slider down for "Wave" finally got
those under control.

Sorry - that just decreased the volumn of those already low, and left the
room blasting sound elsewhere. I have no idea of what is goint on! Thanks
anyway
