Sound hardware acceleration...

I was curious if there was a way in Vista to shut off hardware acceleration
for the sound card. I'm getting sound stuttering in certain games that I
normally corrected by shutting off acceleration, but I can't find a setting
to do it.

Atcually, I should be asking how I can access the directx settings to turn
this on or off. I can't seem to find a way to access any of the directx
settings.

....and I would be surprised if you do. Vista handles sound in a new way.

Ok, I followed the link to the Creative site which states that Vista
automatically disables Directsound acceleration. That makes things quite a
bit more sticky, but saved me from running through hoops for the next few
days.

So, in short, thank you for pointing that out. Saved me a lot of time. I
very much appreciate it.
