Sound doesn't stop in PP 2003 - why?

Hi!

I have two questions.

1) When using sound files in Power Point 2003 there seems to be no way of
stopping the sound, when playing the slide show. When I click the sound icon,
the sound starts, but when I try to click once more, to get it to stop it
doesn't work. The only way to stop the sound is to skip to the next picture,
which is very inconvenient. Is this is a bug in the program? In the settings
for the sound clip, it's set on "stop when clicking", but it still doesn't
work.

2) This one is related. If I have two clickable sound clips on one page, and
want to click first the one and then hear the other, what do I do? When I try
this, and click on the second icon, when the first one is running, they both
play at the same time. Is there a way round this?

Daniel,
On question one:
After inserting the sound file choosing to play on click, activate the
custom animation task pane, select your
sound icon on the slide, click on add effect, choose Sound actions, select
stop/pause. Now move the entry using the arrows up/down so that is
positioned under the play action. That will allow you to stop when clicked
and restart if you want.

If you insert the sound file and let it play automatically, then add the
stop action as described, double click on it in the custom animation task
pane, choose Timing tab, select the sound in the list in the bottom of the
dialog. That will allow you to stop when clicked. Of course that only works
one time you cannot stop and start several times.

Question two:
Insert both sounds and choose on click to play them. Select the first sound
again and and a stop/pause action as described above. Move that item so that
it is below the second sound in the task pane. Now change the beginning to
with previous.
That should do it, the moment you click on the second sound to play it the
first will be stopped.
