Sound button to play wave file

I'm creating a tutorial for our intranet. Currently, I've recorded the text
for each page of the tutorial and loaded to play as background when the page
opens.
I beleive there will be individual who perfer not to have the text read to
them so I wanted to create a sound icon that would play the wave file when
clicked. (That would also give the individuals who like to have the text
read, listen to it again.)
I was able to insert an icon (using dreamweaver-although I want to use
FrontPage exclusively for this project if I can) however, eachtime I clicked
on the ICON, the flash player would open instead of just playing the wave
file in the background.
I know it can be done, I just don't know how to do it and more importantly,
can Frontpage do it. If FP can't do it, can anyone tell me possibly how to
do it in DW8? Thx, Dj

Is the sound file a FLASH movie (.swf)? What type of file is it? Does it
only happen on your PC or does the same thing happen on other PCs? If it's
not a .swf file and it's only on your PC then the file extension maybe
associated with the wrong program to open sound files. You need to change
that in Widows Explorer under Tools, Folder Options, File Types. If it is a
..swf file then the FLASH player is suppose to open.

Actually, I think I mis-spoke in my message; it wasn't Flash but QuickTime
that opens up. Let me clarify... I used Windows Sound Recorder to create
the wave files. When I used DreamWeaver8, I used, INSERT, MEDIA and then I
tried both PlugIn and Shockwave. The Shockwave didn't work at all and the
Plugin works except it shows the whole Quicktime play bar and it defaulted to
play automatically and not just when the play button was cliked. I tried
making a Hyperlink using FP, but it wanted to open the media player in my
whole window. Thanks! Dj
