Sortting files by details

I am using Excel 97 SR-2 and XP Professional Version 2002
Service Pack 1.

When I Open File, click on the Details button and then
click on the filename (to sort descending by filename),
the list is scrambled. Clicking again to go back to an
ascending sort just scrambles again. I have to close the
window and open again to get the correct ascending order.
Same problem with the Date or any other detail.
 
I don't use xl97 or windows XP, but I don't recall this being a problem with
xl97 under win98.

And this ain't much of a solution, but maybe hitting the F5 key to refresh that
list will save you from having to close then reopen that dialog.

Or maybe toggling between List/details/large icons/small icons will make a
difference.
