Sorting Rows

Q

Quick Orange

I can't really explain what I want, so I'll just type an example. Say
I've got a sheet with three weeks of sales on it. I have rows 1-3,
each representing a week of sales. I have 5 columns, each representing
a day, Monday-Friday. Each day shows the dollar amount of sales.

Now, what I'd like to do is have excel sort the rows and keep all
corresponding data together. I'll have it start with Monday and see
which column has the highest monday slot, then have it go to Tuesday
(if there are weeks with the same Monday sales), and on. My problem is
it isn't keeping the weeks together, so I end up with the highest days.

Thanks!

Select all the cells in the table
Choose Data>Sort
From the Sort By dropdown, choose Monday
From the Then By dropdown, choose Tuesday
From the second Then By dropdown, choose Wednesday
Click OK

If you want to sort all five days, start by sorting Thursday and Friday,
as described above.
Then sort by Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
