Sorting Out Lines Into Lists

Hello, I was wondering if any Word experts could help me with this
one?

I have a document that lists different show names with dates, is there
an easy way for me to put this list in show order without copying and
pasting each line individually? An example of the lines I want to sort
out is as follows

03/06/2007 06:00 09:00 07XV2156LX0 TONK
04/06/2007 19:00 22:00 07XR1157LX0 S JAMES TV
10/06/2007 06:00 09:00 07XV2163LX0 TONK
13/06/2007 19:00 22:00 07XG5166LX0 P DAVID LETTERMAN
24/06/2007 06:00 09:00 07XV2177LX0 TONK
01/07/2007 06:00 09:00 07XV2184LX0 S TONK
02/07/2007 04:00 06:00 07XX6185LX0 S TIMMY MALLET
02/07/2007 19:00 22:00 07XR1185LX0 P JAMES TV
06/07/2007 00:00 02:00 07XP1189LX0 S TIMMY MALLET
06/07/2007 12:00 14:00 07XN1189LX0 MAX
08/07/2007 06:00 09:00 07XV2191LX0 S TONK

And I want it to look like

03/06/2007 06:00 09:00 07XV2156LX0 TONK
10/06/2007 06:00 09:00 07XV2163LX0 TONK
24/06/2007 06:00 09:00 07XV2177LX0 TONK
01/07/2007 06:00 09:00 07XV2184LX0 S TONK
08/07/2007 06:00 09:00 07XV2191LX0 S TONK

04/06/2007 19:00 22:00 07XR1157LX0 S JAMES TV
02/07/2007 19:00 22:00 07XR1185LX0 P JAMES TV

02/07/2007 04:00 06:00 07XX6185LX0 S TIMMY MALLET
06/07/2007 00:00 02:00 07XP1189LX0 S TIMMY MALLET

13/06/2007 19:00 22:00 07XG5166LX0 P DAVID LETTERMAN

06/07/2007 12:00 14:00 07XN1189LX0 MAX

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks

You just highlight all of the text, go to table, then select sort, in type
select text. You will have to do a little editing as it sorts alphabetically
(i.e. you Tonks won't be together).

The only practical way to do this is to convert the list to a table, and
even then it won't be perfect because of the way the list is currently
formatted, but here's a rought start.

1. Use Find and Replace to replace spaces with tabs (^t).

2. Select the text and use Table | Convert | Table to Text, separating at
tabs (you should have 7 columns).

3. The resulting table will show some anomalies wrt "Tonk" (which will be
partly in column 6 and partly in column 7). This could be corrected by
adding a space to the relevant lines before replacing spaces with tabs, or
adding a tab after the replacement.

4. After you have each element in a separate column, you can use Table |
Sort to sort the table by up to three columns at a time, resorting till you
get the desired order.
