sorting or filtering data, need help

Sheet1 contains a list of people in Col A in the format of Lastname,
first name of people I need to pull a report for (approx.1000 names)
Sheet2 contains data in Col A with Last name, first name and additional
data for each person through col AB (approx.6000 names)

I need to either....
--run a report in Sheet3 with all data through colAB for only the
listed names in sheet1
(or)
--hide rows in sheet2 that do not contain names listed in sheet1

I hope this is clear.
I can't seem to get it right.

Hi Aroe
I think Vlookup is the best solution for your problem. You may send some of
ur sample data and i would try vlookup on ur sample data. it is quite easy
and very power ful function. i was earlier confused to using this function
but now expert of this function.
