I just upgraded from Office 97. Using an ODBC query previously defined and
inserting the results in between B1 & C1. I am unable to sort the imported
data when I use a column on either side of the imported data. I have removed
the connection and the filtering from the imported data without any luck?
Please advise.

Thank You,
Dan

Hi Dan,
Take a look at
http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/sorting.htm
to see if it helps or at least helps to ask a more understandable
question that describes what you have, want you want/expected
and what happens instead. In general before doing a sort
you want to select all of the cells on a worksheet, so that data
in each row is carried with the data being sorted in columns.

Hello David,

Thanks for your reply. The work around that I discovered was that the
imported data is being inserted as a table, once I converted it to a range of
data I was able to sort on it using an adjoining column. Is there a way to
control the import format of a data query?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,
Sorry, insufficiet information on what you did to correct,
and I don't use databases so can't answer the basic new question.

See it this helps, it rearranges some kind of database dump
into an Excel table. Though from your question, I think you
already see it as a table, but it might help for other things.
