I have a 12 MB spreadsheet with about 65000 records. 9 columns.
When I try add more records and sort them the sort hangs.

What is the max # records or size. Is there a workaround?

I tried to sort only A-L but after I pasted the new A-L records the
spreadsheet would not respond to scrol or attempts to select parts to sort.

Thanks for any assistance.

Hi,

Max rows in a an excel sheet of 2003 ver. is 65536 and the max columns is
from A to IV.
If you have data filling in all the rows then sorting/subtotaling we create
a problem try to break your data in same sheet or in different sheets and
then try for sorting and subtotaling.

Hope i have answered you.

You can get 1,000,000 rows using Excel 2007.

Or consider using Access instead.
