Sorting by topic and subtopic

I have a list of topics with subtopics, initially not sorted. When I use sort
the program generally complied, i.e., take main topics alphabetically and
(indented) subtopics also alphabetically within main tpics, BUT every now and
then it just makes a plain mistake, e.g., it takes a subtopic and lists it by
itself or it takes a subtopic and lists it under a main topic different from
what it is in the presorting list. Error rate about 10% - previously had no
problems.

Thanks.

LOL! You didn't say what program you are having this problem, but It
doesn't sound like a Windows problem, so this is the wrong place to ask
too.

I give you an F- for your post.

Please display some charity for us technically handicapped. Now, if I could
find the Applications and Developer FAQ I MIGHT be better off, and as far as
the F- is concerned I can live with that if I get my question answered. The
sorting program used was in MS Word in Windows XP, sorting with "sort"
under"Table" Does that hep? Which is all I want, but I will take instruction
on the way.

Thanks, gentlemen.

Go to one of the Word newsgroups, and ask there. This is a group for
Windows XP, not Word, and Word is not a part of Windows XP.

What program are you using when you have this problem?

Thank you for all the responses but I realize I should be asking this
question over in the Word section and I have shifted there, since I am using
a word program.

Thank you all.
