Just found out that the 'sort by name' option does not
appear by right clicking in the favorites menu either.

Again, it flashes the menu so fast i can't tell if it is
indeed the 'sort by' menu or not...seems that pop-up
killer is supressing this option but when i disable the
pop-up killer it still does not show the 'sort by' menu.

How do i gain access to the 'sort by name' menu for 'all
programs' and 'favorites'?

Instead of Rt-clk, try hitting key between Win & CTL to
right of spacebar. Forgot its name but this is a 'wild
hair' anyway.

I have similar prblm with scanner driver. Only happens
when menu opens to my right so dragging window to rt of
screen solved it.

HTH but I doubt it - Larry

Any advice given is my attempt to show appreciation for all
the excellent help I've received here but I'm no MVP so it
may only apply NUGS. Personal attacks, nitpicking & criticism
of anything but content will NOT be responded to. Those
posters should spend their time taking the test @

I believe you can only use "sort by name" in the IE Favorites, not a
Favorites list on the start menu... if this is a consideration in your
case. You can adjust menu speed via TweakUI in the first page of the
mouse area.

A permanent favorites fix can be downloaded at

Thanks Maureen and Jim,
Jim, never realized what that key was for..thanks for the
tip.
Maureen, I found that there is not 'sort by' option in ie
favs, just in windos favs.
I tried both of your solutions and had no success.
I found that I had the "drag/drop menu" option
disabled...didn't realize that this applied to all 'menu
actions'.
Thanks for the efforts...
