Microsoft Antispyware asks for Sophos Anti-Virus to be
approved after each Sophos update.

Yes - many reports of this one. I don't have a workaround to offer except
finding and turning off the particular agent checkpoint that is monitoring
this action--and this is one that you would rather have running, I suspect.
