Sony CPD100ES Display

Is there an update to the driver for the Sony CPD100ES
display for XP ? I am running XP Home and my system
keeps freezing up or shutting down frequently. The
Windows error report indicates that there may be a
problem with the display device driver. I've checked the
Sony support website, but there are no updates for XP.

Hi,

If Sony states there isn't one, then there isn't. Hardware manufacturers
create and release driver updates, not Microsoft. However, the problem is
more like either the display adapter than the monitor driver. Check for an
update to your video card.

If that's not it, then the freezing and shutting down may be related to
faulty hardware. Is there anything in the event viewer, or are there any
error messages? If so, they should point towards the software problem. If
not, then it is likely a hardware issue, and may be best addressed by a pc
shop.
