Sometimes can't drag and drop desktop icons

At times, I can't drag and drop desktop icons. i can drag them but when I try
to drop them they go back to their original location. I don't have Auto
Arrange or Align to Grid checked.

The only way to fix the problem is to reboot then every thing is fine.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Have you instaled a new mouse recently?

Do a virus scan
Do a spyware scan
Try another mouse

Click on empty Desktop>Arrange Icons by>Tick "Align to Grid"
Then you can drag and drop them where you want to.
