Something is wrong with a certain password.

I turned on my computer and found a dialog bog titled "lsass.exe - System
Error". In the window it says, "When trying to update a passwork, this return
status indicates that the value provided at the current password is not
correct." After about 5 seconds of this box showing, the computer restarts
and once again shows this message. I am running Windows XP sp2. Is there a
way to go around this error, or to reinstall the messed up file?

Hi
"lsass.exe" is the Local Security Authentication Server. It verifies the
validity of user logons to your PC/Server. It generates the process
responsible for authenticating users for the Winlogon service. This process
is performed by using authentication packages such as the default Msgina.dll.
If authentication is successful, Lsass generates the user's access token,
which is used to launch the initial shell. Other processes that the user
initiates inherit this token.
The first thing to do is a full spyware scan as various nasties use the same
name. check the location of the file. If it's not
"C:\Windows\System32\lsass.exe" then you should be alarmed

I would gladly run a spyware scan if i could logon, however i cant even get
to the logon screen. Is there a way to reinstall it from the restore disc?
