Something is seriously wrong with my computer

I need some help...please!

When I turned on my computer this morning, a bunch of files came up saying that windows didnt know which program to use. They were for my dig camera, and a couple others I can't remember now. All of my icons on the desktop are now e's. It's like I lost the linking. When I go to my control panel, I can't open anything there, it says I don't have rundll32.exe. It is on my computer, but when I click on it, I get the error windows doesn't know which program to use to open it

From my address bar, I am able to navigate through programs, except my documents. I was going to uninstall nortons and reinstall it, but I can't from remove/add programs because of the rundll32 error

I'm at a loss.

Boot from your XP CD, at the command prompt type chkdsk /f, this MAY fix
your problem if you have corrruption on your drive.

Sounds like some system files have gotten corrupted.
go to run start type in the following SFC /SCANNOW
Have your install cd handy, this will check for corrupted
system files and replace them from the install cd, you may
need to reapply service packs, and patches.
