I'm trying to total a column of numbers. When i highlight the cell a
the bottom of the column and click on auto sum, i get a number which
know is not correct. Is there something hidden on the sheet?? And ho
do i clear everything out without losing all my data? Sure could us
some help.......Joh

Maybe some values are in there as text, and aren't being included... Try
selecting the range, use Edit/Goto/Special, click Constants & only leave
Text selected, to see if there are only text values. Or perhaps use
Edit/Goto/Special, click Formulas & only leave Text selected.
Another thing you can do is this: assuming your formula is =SUM(B10:B50),
select the "B10:B50" piece of the formula and press the F9 key which will
expand the B10:B50 so you can see what it's adding up.
And, if you have Excel XP or later, you can use Tools/Formula
Auditing/Evaluate Formula, and keep clicking "evaluate" to see what's going
on.
