Some pages now don't load in IE

This is something I came across just from this morning. Some pages just
don't load in IE.

For example this loads: www.nytimes.com

But this, a link form within above page, does not:

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/01/24/science/space/24prof.html

This is just one example in the New York Times, where some links don't seem
to work at all. I found similar behavior in www.cnn.com as well as
www.msnbc.com.

Nothing serious - just some sites that I browse for my daily early morning
catching up on the news. Most other pages come up okay and fast as usual. I
did check for all security and privacy settings as well as JavaScript
handling. Checked okay.

Firefox came up with no problems, incidentally, browsing the same sites and
links. Which makes me wonder.

Regards and thanks in anticipation for any insights.

I think that this is a phenomenon I have observed before. Try dumping your
cache and then try again. For me, it then loaded. If you then try again
(and the cache can't be overly full already), it may partially load, or
stall.

I've seen this on other sites, and it does seem to depend upon the site, so
is probably at least partially server related. Generally speaking, dumping
the cache works for me at such times. I've not gotten around to trying
Firefox, though I know I should.

Thanks for the response.

The problem was resolved by simply restoring the PC to an earlier Acronis
system image. Things are working fine now - though I seem to have lost the
opportunity to find out what the issue really was!

BTW, I use Firefox - and it is an excellent browser. Plus it comes with tons
of add-ins and other customizations.

Regards. :)

Glad things are ok. I *will* try out Firefox--but I can only pedal just so
fast . . . :-}
