some original cd's open

I'm new to XP
I have a CDRW and it's been working fine until a couple of days ago. I can't play audio cd's sometimes it opens original ones
I can't copy or burn anything. I changed my burning software to nero version 6 which is more powerful then my old one, and still it doesn't want to burn and not open. XP sometimes open originals. XP only opens one copied rw cd. and this morning it's just dead

XP built-in burning software is a striped down version from
Roxio. NERO uses different coding methods and the two can
conflict.

Remove the CD-RW drive using the device manager. Disable
the built-in burning software.
Then reinstall the NERO and reboot the computer. It should
initialize the CD-RW and use the NERO software.
