I've recently noticed a wierd thing with some cursors.

I have XP SP2. No viruses or spyware.

Most cursors show fine, but some, notably a crosshair or I-beam, don't show.
As you move the cursor across an app, and expect these cursors to change,
the cursor just disappears. And then re-appears as you keep moving it across
onto another control.

I've tried changing the pointers to a different set but to no avail.
Restarting the computer has no effect. Is there a setting that might cause
this behaviour?

Go to Control Panel > Accessibility Options > Display (tab).
Under "Cursor Options", adjust the "Width" slider to make the cursor
line "fatter", Apply and OK out.

In addition, does this issue occur in Safe Mode?
