Some concerns with Catalyst 3.5 drivers

I have a Radeon 9700 Pro made by ATI, 2.26GHz P4 and 512MB PC-2100 RAM.

Has anyone else noticed that Diablo 2 - Lord of Destruction and Command &
Conquer - Generals sometimes slows down big time with the Catalyst 3.5
drivers? I faced Diablo himself earlier tonight and I swear my 2.26GHz
system was running seemingly like a 486DX machine for much of the battle.
Also, there are times when Generals slows down quite a bit too almost as if
I'm running it on a low-end box.

Also, I cannot get Shadow Force - Razor Unit and U.S. Most Wanted to work
under Windows XP. I have to run these games under Windows 2000, where they
run fine. Any comments/experiences? I have NOT tried these games with
earlier Catalyst drivers under Windows XP.

I've not played Diablo 2 but C&C Generals does stutter now and then and not
always during heavy battles - it's not too much of a big deal but I'd expect
my system to be able to handle it. I have pretty much everything except AGP
x8 enabled (I found the system relatively unstable at 8x) on the
BIOS/SmartGart but I am running the game at 1600 x 1200.
