Some CD directories open very slowly

L

I have burned CD with different files (by Nero), which gathered in the
directories (about 25). Total size of the CD is 650 MB. Some of the
directories are opened very slowly - 2 - 3 min! All this time the drive
indicator blinks.
From the begining I can see the list of files, but their icons appear step
by step a long time later. And this is happening the same way in the Total
Commander, and in the My Computer. The same directory opens normally on my
hard disk .
Can someone explain this process?

If there are a lot of files and folders on the CD, it's occasional
that the CD's file system is likely to be bulged. Of course HDD can
enumarate them faster as the nature of technology. Times and times
faster than optical storage.

Check CD with a surface scan tool like CD/DVD speed to see if the disc
is fine. Don't worry if the disc is fine.
