Solitaire etc on Vista Business

Hey guys,

Have they cut games like Solitaire out of the business edition entirely, or
do I just have to hunt for them? I sorta left the installer to go have fun,
got back, put my profile details in and Vista was there, so I don't know if
there was an option to install games...

Windows just aint windows without solitaire and minesweeper...

Thanks

Shaun

I have vista home premium that came with a bad sol so I copied the one from
my xp computer. Copy sol.exe and the cards.dll. Runs great. I also have the
very old pinball installed and running just as it did in win98.

I thought Pinball was from NT 4.0 or Windows 2000?

Because the Vista Business edition is, as the name implies, targeted
for businesses, the games are not installed by default. You can add
them: Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows Features On or Off > Place
a check mark in Games.

you guys should not even post!! you are not talking about the OP question.
sheese!

to the OIP. you might be able to install the games via the control panel
that lets you select what windows features you want.

Think that's bad? Take a look at the new, politically correct options
for Minesweeper.

I like the new Spider Solitaire - you can undo back as far as you wish -
haven't "lost" a game yet!

Yes, it's there. You have to enable it from the Windows options in "Control
Panel, Programs and Features, Turn Windows features on or off". The first
one is "Games". Click the check box and let Windows do its thing. Viola'!
Games!

If you don't have access to your old machine (I gave my old one to my
daughter for example), you might want to try this - it worked on Windows
Vista Home Premium.

It requires 3 files: (I renamed the executables ....xp so I wouldn't
conflict with any existing files)

cards.dll
freecellxp.exe
solxp.exe

I uploaded them to the web if you want to copy them

http://one.fsphost.com/sehodge/games/cards.dll
http://one.fsphost.com/sehodge/games/solxp.exe
http://one.fsphost.com/sehodge/games/freecellxp.exe

Hope this helps.

Huh? Vista Business has those games, only they do not get installed by
default; so just install off the Vista DVD:

Start > Control Panel > set to "Classic view" > Programs and Features >
"Turn Windows features on or off" > under Games check the games you want
installed > click any OKs
