Software shutdown for Lexmark printer?

Hi

Is there any way I can switch off my Lexmark X1190 without pressing
the button? On a print job, it switches itself on, so I gather there
should be a way to switch it off from the software or through a dos
command?

The printer is not on a network, it's connected directly through USB.

This question must seem odd. I'm designing a new desk for myself and
want to put the printer inside the desk, with just the blank pages and
printed pages sticking out. This saves a lot of desk space for more
junk & papers. It also means that I can't reach the power on/off
switch. As I said, power ON is no problem, because it gets waken up
by the resident software...

If it is able to power on automatically, then it is not really off.
It is drawing enough power to know when to power on.

So don't bother with the power switch. Even when on, It is in a
standby mode and draws almost no power when not being used. And by
not powering it off with the switch, you will extend its working life.
