XP was already here as OS-- no upgrade.
In "add components" area of the Home edition cd it deleted IE6, Outllook
Express and in Accessories wordpad, paint. Don't know what else. Didn't
know checked markerd programs would get deleted/removed.

Computer was custom built and believe cd is a recovery/restore type. Not
full-fledged program.

Do I do "system restore" or use the cd? If I use the cd please give
guideance how to start with it.

OK what does you computer manual suggest will happen if you use the restore
CD? Take a minute to read it and save further embarassment.
