Software JBOD XP need help badly

R

Rich

i recently had my c drive crash, so have put in a new
drive and reinstalled windows xp as one does.

The orginla instal was XP and so is this, the problem is
that XP has decided it cant detect my jbod anymore, now
there is nothing wrong with the disks they show under
disk management as disk0 disk1 and as Dynamic Voumes and
it then below dynamic, says 'Foriegn'.

Now i have had this before after a reinstall when using a
ore service pack 1 xp cd , but once i did all the updates
and installed SP1 etc it would usualy detect the 2 drives
as being in JBOD and all was well.

This time it does not, my question is what the hell am i
doing wrong? How can i try and make it recognise the
JBOD? How can i test it when its in this state? And the
very last question which is a very last resort how can
recover data from the JBOD (2 disks) should it be broken.

I have 4 years worth of stuff collected across those 2
disks and obviously most is not backed up i cant loosse
it. what can i do, please experts i need your help.

It will be extremly appreciated.

You have 4 years of collected "stuff" that you, apparently consider
valuable, yet you have no backup?

Hope you learned a lesson this time! I know of a business man who lost 12
years of business records. Even Drive Savers at http://www.drivesavers.com/
could not help him. He sure learned "his" lesson. Damn near lost his small
business!
