Hi,

I've been getting this error periodically: Socket Error 10055. No buffer
space available.

When it happens I lose most internet connectivity. I can still ping but
can't browse or get e-mail. DNS works because I can ping by URL (for
example, ping www.yahoo.com).

The only solution I've found is to restart the system.

I understand this is due to a shortage of low memory and that some
application my not be freeing memory.

Is there any way to tell which applications(s) are using memory; and is
there any utility that will re-claim memory?

Thanks, Frank

Hi, I'm getting desperate. Does anyone have any insight into this
problem?

Thanks, Frank

yeah I am getting the same problem in windows 2000

I was going to upgrade to XP to see if that fixed it...

I have replaced 100% of my hardware and my OS and it still does it to me, it seems independant of what software I have running, and it seems to have started after several months ago I did a windows update.

I am going to install XP and if it keeps doing it then, its going to be some version of linux.

I have the exact same symptoms, and if I dont reboot it goes to a BSOD exception in ntoskrnl.exe
