I'm seeing numbers between 2 and 13 on various machines--I'm not tracking OS
versus Office at all.

I've had no problems getting connected or with the installs. A bit too
early to tell if they cause any complaint.

I see 10 just now on the sole Windows 2000 server I still work with.

I did have a couple of machines cough when I tried a custom scan, but an
immediately subsequent express scan went through fine. I didn't see
anything offered on custom that I hadn't already seen, so I just did express
on most machines.

Hi guys...I only got 3. The usual monthly update for malicious removal,
another malicious one, and the Media 11 one.

I don't run alot, just XP Pro, no WD or Vista, and still IE6. All went fine,
reboot was required, but that was it.

Hope all went well for everyone. JJ :)

I got around 5 0r 6 including junk mail filter, Powerpoint viewer, Office
2003 (several). I created a restore point prior to download, but now restore
can't go back and I have no sound. Is that strange or what?

Well, since I do most installs remotely, and don't usually bother to turn on
sound over the remote link, I haven't tested sound issues--will see what I
hear from the users today.

On my XP Home machine there were 5, 2 for Windows and 3 for Office they all
installed and everything was OK after the reboot, I have that machine set to
notify only.
My Vista machine apparently has 9 and without going to check not sure how
many of them are Office, that's set for automatic and will do the install at
2pm today.
Because I live over the pond my updates come in Wednesday morning for me
when the machines are turned on for the day.

btw there is a problem with KB954156.
-Update for windows media player
It has to do with the Media Encoder 9
If you do not have Windows Media Encoder 9 in add/remove programs and you
try to do the update it will fail
If you have WM Encorder 9 in add/remove programs it will install.
You can install from MS Download center the encoder (I do not recommend
this) and try the update again

The bug is that it is coming on computers (like mine and a whole bunch of my
clients) who do not have the encoder and it should know if you have it or
not.

There are a whole load of complaints in microsoft update newsgroups and I am
going to wait till they fix this bug before i go and try again to install
it.

I have Encoder 8 and the update installed ok. Should update have given
me a 9 at some point? No hurry, I suppose.
