snapshot orientation

Hello,

I’ve created a snapshot file from a report whose orientation is landscape. When the snapshot file is opened it appears to be in landscape, but upon printing it reverts to portrait. Has anyone experienced this behavior before? This occurs whether I create the snapshot manually or with code. This report gets emailed to senior management who do not seem to like something that appears to be landscape print portrait. Help…

Thanks for your input.

Does it do this to everyone or just some users?

I had this happening once only to find out that the user had his default
print settings set to Portrait (Resize to Fit). The latter is something
that not many printers support, but in this case it was an option for the
user. Most of my landscape reports printed in portrait just fine (although
with very small print) and then he complained when he encountered one that
didn't come out correctly.

I told him that my reports came with no guarantees on formatting if the
users have such an option enabled.

Hello Rick,

Thanks for replying. It occurs with all .snp files. The snapshot viewer seems to ignore the orientation settings when it prints.

Well, I didn't really ask if it happened with all files. I asked if it
happened to all users and all printers being used.

Sorry about that Rick. It happens everywhere everytime. I believe it is more of failure of the Snapshot Viewer not retaining orientation settings of a .snp file.

I'll do some more checking, but I don't think I've ever seen that problem.
