Snap to grid and snap to guides in 2003

I don't see any change in the position of my drawing object (rectangle) with
these options either checked or unchecked. What am I missing?

I meant to say snap objects to grid and snap objects to other object. Sorry
about that.

John, I can MOVE the object by dragging or using the arrow keys with no
indication of any "snap" action. I must be overlooking something.

Ok, I think I got it. It depends on the spacing of the grid. With a larger
value it is very noticeable. Thank you.
