smtp error

I have spent the past two days on the phone with my ISP. I get an smtp error
when trying to send an email from Outlook:

Task mail.cableone.net-Sending reported error (0x80042109): Outlook is
unable to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to
recieve this message, contact your server administrator or ISP.

No firewalls are on, No virus scanning is on. I can't telnet to port 25.
I've tried changing to port 26 as recommened by someone else using
cableone.net. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Start
Run
Type in Cmd
click OK
Now at the prompt type in nslookup smtp.cableone.net (Space between
nslookup and smtp

use one of the IP numbers you get from this command in OUTLOOKS Smtp
Server Setup, instead of smtp.cableone.net

I have 4 mail servers available to me on Comcast

It is so easy to make a typing error when entering server info.. check that
first.. and BTW, never disable the firewall or antivirus when online..

No firewalls are on,

Donnot Choose EXIT.. Choose Disable ( For Testing only ) Same
goes for your Virus Checker..
