smss.exe and csrss.exe

Recently I noticed these two processes in the task list. I'm not sure maybe
they were always there, but I don't think so. What are they related to?
Are they viruses?

When I searched on the internet, I found some sites that said they were
related to trojans, specifically Flood.f. But I do have a virus scanner
that updates automatically and Zone Alarm, and they haven't found anything.
(Although, I'm not really sure how I can use ZA's logs to check to see if
there is a trojan trying to phone out or not.)

These are normal XP processes, and typically they're always running.
Always run a full virus scan if you're not sure.
