Hello,

What are your exeperiences with smart card identification?
Can Access 2003 handle this task?
How does application "communicate" with smart card?
Is there an ActiveX control that can be embedded to capture card insertion
and card removal events??

Please help!

Im not an access MVP, However I have worked with the CAC Card in a research
facility for the Department of Defence that Access Tables stored Smart Card
information. I guess it depends on what information you want stored.
Several Scenerios, Biometric, PKI info, CAC card number, Pin Number of the
cac card. CAC cards have a container on there chip that can be used to store
various information. This could even be records. However what is stored on
the CAC card depends on the size of the chip embedded on the card. SDK's are
also developed to manipulate this information. I hope this helps, Again I
have seen Access tables store info that is on the CAC card via a CAC reader,
controller. I hope this helps
