Smaller left indent ?

When aligning text within a cell, a left indent of 1 is too large. In fact,
it is often the equivalent of two character in the font of the cell. Is
there anyway to specify and indent of 1/2 a character or some other way to
reduce the left margin?

Hi,

Maybe format the cell as custom

For text
@
which is space@

For numbers
General
which is spaceGeneral

Hope that makes sense when viewed in your window.

Great idea, Martin. I will try this, in fact, have a vague recollection
that this may have helped in the past. Still wish they would let you enter
the indent (margin) in fractions of a character (inch, cm, pixels,
whatever).

Thanks,

Richard

Hello Martin,

I have tried your suggestion and it works if you only have one line in the
cell. Unfortunately, unlike an indent or margin, it does not apply to
wrapped lines in the same cell. So we're back to square one. We need a way
to insert a smaller indent or margin. Ironically, Microsoft Word appears to
have more flexibility in this area than Excel. In Word you can set the
table cell margins (left, right, top, bottom) in fractions of an inch.

Thanks,

Richard
