Smaller ATX case?

J

Justin

I have a Lian Li case with the door on the front. At first I thought
it was a good idea but now I think its pretty stupid. The case is tall
and cumbersome. Anyway, I was wondering if there are any ATX mid-tower
cases with three 3.5" external bays and just three 5.25" external bays.

Small, but not tiny... and still ATX. Do any of the major respectable
brands make a case like that? Also, I don't need a power supply.

It will be hard to find a small case with thee external 3.5" bays.
Most have two at the most.

Newegg has a large number of cases listed, and is a good way to just
search for something you like. Then you can price around or see if it
is available locally.

I thought I'd share this one with you, to kick off your search. This
is a computer case, tailor made for an Orange Julius business :)

Where could you hide a thing like that :)

Looks like a late 90's Mac... except... gay.
Mini ATX is the way to go apparently.

I can live with two. Will a normal ATX board fit in it?

I was just looking for precisely the same thing a couple of weeks ago and
found this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ref=sr_1_1/104-1712163-7467965?_encoding=UTF8

I just finished building a new system with a full-size ATX mobo using this
case, and I loved it. The new system isn't for me, but I really like the
case and would get it for myself.

I'm looking at the Lian Li PC-50. Only two 3.5 inchers, but its
compace and since its Lian Li you know cooling won't be an issue.
I wonder if there are any like that but from a cheaper manufacturer.
three 5.25" external bays and two 3.5" externals.

BUT the issue is if I someday to to a SATA RAID I'm going to need a
bunch of internal 3.5"...
Decisions, decisions.

That's my case! I just bought it this week. Paid $64.99 + tax. I
bought an extra fan for CPU cooler and another for the front
intake. All those other cases had that stupid front door on them.

Glad to hear it! Funny how life is, though; as it happens, my current box is
one of the other black Antec cases... one with that "stupid front door" on
it. :) It works OK for me, though. It seems to keep the dust out of
the optical drives better, and since my system just sits on the floor,
there's really nothing impeding the door, so it's no problem for me to
open/close the door as needed.

thats actually what I want to get away from. I have a Lian Li PC-6070
and constantly opening the door is a real hemmerhoid. I tend to have
to swap out diskettes (Yes I still use them), memory cards and DVD's.
It is supposed to be a quiet case, I can tell you right now, its no
quieter than my PC-60 I got for my parents PC. Either way, my 6070 has
a date with ebay once I find a suitable replacement.
There's a PC-60 on ebay that I'll bid on and see what happens.
ALso, I'm looking at the PC-50, 52, 30 and 37 from Lian Li.
