small font

Why there's no good, nice, small monospace font available in CF ?
(or, if it exists, where is it?)
This is not perfect windows programming, i know... but i need something like
that!
All devices like psion have a very good, not space wasting, little font.
Courier new font, when size=8, is not very readable... it's not sans-serif.

All Windows CE devices have Tahoma which is a sans-serif compressed version
of the Verdana family. It was designed to offer excellent readability at
small sizes. It is used extensively in the standard shells.

Yes, but it's not monospace!!!
Sometimes monospace is needed, eg. to show columned data without the need of
grids/listviews, but just label or textbox (or even listboxes)... this is to
increase speed and save resources... aren't these the keywords the dev team
had in mind when designing the CF?

Since Windows CE uses Truetype fonts you should be able to find a free
monospaced font to use in your project. The lack of any specific font is not
an issue with the Compact Framework itself. You can also use tabs in some
controls e.g. TextBox by placing the '\t' escape code in your text. There
are lots of free font resources on the internet and I'm sure you can find
one specific to your exact needs and that you can distribute with your
application.
Courier New is commonly used as a console font etc on Pocket PC and similar
but as you have stated is a serif font. As standard you will find only
Tahoma and Courier New on a Pocket PC. Other device manufacturers may add
additional core fonts to their ROM.

FYI, you can install font to your device by copying the font files to
windows\fonts directory. The data format is the same. You can find a
desktop font which fits your need and copy it to the device.
hope this helps
thanks
