Small Font Problem

Hi,

My font list currently shows the description of the Times New Roman font as
"mi" instead of "Times New Roman" so I must have changed it at some point in
the past.
It only shows as "mi" when I choose the option List Font Names In Their Font
in Tools => Customise => Options.
If I untick the box so that all the fonts in the font list are shown as
identical fonts, the description of the Times New Roman font in the font list
is "Times New Roman".
If I type in "Times New Roman" in the Font field, the correct font is
selected but the description in the font list is still "mi".

Unfortunately, I can't remember how I managed to change the description of
the font in the font list but I would ideally like to reset it back to how it
was.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

ouch..you musta renamed the .ttf file. Try renaming "mi.ttf" back to Times New Roman...you'll find it in the Fonts folder.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the suggestion. The TTF files are named correctly i.e. "Times New
Roman" and I've used other Microsoft programs like Word and the font appears
in the font list with the correct description. It seems to be a problem that
is particular to FrontPage.

Any other suggestions would be welcomed.

Thanks

Dunno.

But I did try renaming beesknees.ttf to Abeesknees.ttf last night and it did exactly what you said but in Word...scrambled the display in FOnts but the font was usable. Dunno why it didnt work for FP.

If you have TweekUI, I think there's a font repair in that...just a thought dunno if it will help or not.

Hi Rob,

Word seems to be fine, the description does match the actual font, it's only
FrontPage that has a different description.
As this is the case, I'm not sure that the font needs repairing as I guess
that the problem would show itself in other Office programs as well as
FrontPage if it was a problem with the font.

Thanks for the attempt and if you have any other suggestions, please don't
hesitate to let me know.

If anyone else has any suggestions, they would also be very welcome!

Regards,
