sm bus controller & pc1 simple communications controller

hi...after upgrading to xp pro from 98 SE the 2 devices
in the subject show up with question marks in the device
manager. i don't have access to the drivers from the
chipset (intel 845 GLAD) and can't seem to find them
online. how important is it that i fix this?? will my
computer be affected??
 
I don't know if this will help or not but I had the same
problem when I upgraded my motherboard. I was able to
download the drivers from the motherboard manufacturer in
the driver package. I then went to the hardware manager
and deleted the offending drivers ran the update software
and the drivers worked fine
