Don,
I'm not sure that you can fix that. I've had that first DNS lookup take 5
seconds and I've seen it take nearly a minute.

How can I speed up the first DNS lookup, acutally I obtain DNS server address automatically, Do you think that if I use specfic DNS server address, will fix the delay to open my home page
Thanks one more time

I suspect that it's an SBC issue and haven't tried to cure it. But you might
find some help at http://www.broadbandreports.com/ A good start would be

Broadbandreports.com is a terrific resource. I wish I had time to visit all
the terrific resources out there <G>

I did cure generally slow IE performance by deleting the TIF folder (cache)
about a week ago. I should probably do that more often- maybe once a week.

Don,
Internet Options | Connections [tab] | LAN Settings
Any options selected there?

Just a thought .......

Are you using a HOSTS file? In some cases when the HOSTS
file is huge it will cause this type slowdown.
Note: huge = over 5,000 entries
