Slow to access Windows Explorer - My Computer

All of a sudden it takes about 30-45 seconds to access My Computer.
Could explorer.exe be corrupt?

I doubt if explorer.exe is corrupt--if it were it probably just wouldn't
work. See this page, and just keep working your way down. A host of things
*could* be the problem.

I turned off WIA in Services and it fixed the problem but now my camera
will download pictures. GRRRRRR!

If turning off WIA solved your problem, then this is A Good Thing. There
is a much better way to get your digital pictures from your camera into
your computer anyway. Use a usb card reader. These little devices have
multiple-sized slots and cost ~$30 USD. You don't need any drivers, any
specialized software, and Windows just sees the reader as a removable
drive. You don't need camera drivers, and you don't need to have your
camera on, using up the battery.
