I read this "Tip of the Week" in a newspaper and was wondering if the
experts/MVP's in this newsgroup agree with this recommendation.
"You sit and wait and twiddle your thumbs while the screen advertises
Windows and the hard disk thrashes and struggles to start. If you wonder
what's happening, kill the Microsoft splash and watch. Right click My
Computer, then Properties, Advanced. In Start-up and Recovery, click
Settings, then edit. In the line ending "/fastdetect" add a space and then
"/SOS" without the quotes. Save the file and close everything. Next time you
reboot, watch the start-up show."
