slow start up

for first 3 days everything was fine. i have installed other software including works suite 2004 and microsoft updates. since then it takes ages to start up. is ths the same problem as quinn or is mine different. how can i make my laptop start quickly again. do i need to unistall something

Try a program by microsoft called bootvis.exe. It is a program desiged to speedup the boot process in xp. Type in bootvis.exe in the search and download it, its free.
