Slow Shutdown - Windows XP

Hi,

I've got a problem with shutting down. Everytime I shut down, it tells me
that the program "Sample.exe" is still running. SO I have got to click
cancel. And this is when I've basically closed all my applications. THis
"sample.exe" runing happens
twice. I've actually tried to figure out whether the program is running but
under the applications, there is nothing running. Have tried clean boot in
Windows XP (as per what I get from the microsoft support center). It doesn't
solve the problem -- still have got the sampe.exe running when I shut down.
I've also tried checking for spywares & virus by running the latest
anti-spyware & anti-virusprograms. Unfortunately, I still cannot solve the
problem. Anyone knows of a solution to this???
