Slow opening printers in IE

It appears to take a long time opening up the printers
when you click File, Print in IE6 SP1. Many users have
this issue and it appears to be since we put in the
Microsoft Print server replacing the Novell print
queues. Is this a network connection wait time or is
there something else that we are missing.

What model printer is this? What is the network topology from client to
server? Is the server OS Win2000 SP4?
