For about a week now Excel and Word files in 'My
Documents' have been really slow to open. First off, my
automatic dial up connection always opens up a connection
to the internet, and I receive from the internet for up to
a minute. Then the (Norton Antiv Virus) virus scan of the
file takes place (as it always did). Then finally the file
opens. I have automatic update of MS XP and office
enabled, have a HP Compaq machine with 2.4 Ghz Pentium 4,
500MB RAM and was impressed with how fast my machine ran
(until now). I cannot find any references to this 'need to
look for my own files on the internet', that my machine
appears to have developed. Any ideas out there?

Download new update from Norton. There was a problem with Certificates expiring
01/07/2004, but has been fixed
