Slow Network logon

I've got a strange problem that only started to appear
about a week ago. We have a Windows 2000 network, all
machines are Windows 2000 SP4, but when users go to login
the network login is very slow, it can take up to 5 or 7
minutes for their login to start.

They don't have big roaming profiles and the only protocol
that is loaded is TCP/IP running DHCP.

I've had a look over the Microsoft site but i can't see
anything.

I'd really appreciate any ideas or suggestions.

Yep, that was one of the first things i checked, I've been
searching through the event logs and i've been seeing a
few semaphore timeouts on the machines that are having
issues.

Not much info on the microsoft website i can find on these.

Can you give us the ipconfig/all from a client? How many nics in the server?
What OS on the clients?
