When I logon its stalls at.."Applying personal Settings" for at least 1min. it usually breezes right through it. I dont have roaming profiles, Its not my computer looking for a DNS becuase I have a router that gets dns for me. Im on a local network...2 other computers in my house. I installed the UPHclean utility. That only fixed my logoff problem. so if anyone has any ideas. Do tell

P.S. I'm pretty sure my computer doesnt belong to a domain. thanks.

Is your router also your DHCP server? Does this happen every time? If so,
does it make any difference if you do * not * have this system use your
router for DNS?

Having more than one DHCP servers can cause some fascinating behaviors. If
your router is your one and only DHCP server, no problems. Now, just to
demonstrate whether or not your router's DNS is causing the problem, try
configuring the system to not use your router for DNS, and see how that
affects logon. If it makes no difference, then all you need to do is add it
back in, and your no worse off. If it does make a difference, then there's
some more troubleshooting to be done, but you have better defined the
problem.
