Just recently Word documents are taking a long time to load. For instance a
new blank doc can take up to 1 minute!!!
I am using XP and Office 2003.
It may be just coincidence, but this seems only to be happening since I
downloaded the new SP2 update.

If you have Norton AV software installed, uninstall or disable the "Office
Plug In."

SP2 update to Windows XP?

What can you advise, please, if you don't have Norton AV installed? I do
have ZoneAlarm Security Suite. Again Windows XP SP2 and Office 2003.

Thanks.

Another possible cause of this is if the location of the templates folder
has been changed (i.e. a server has been renamed or changed).

Unfortunately this wasn't the case, however, I did delete normal.dot and that
does same to have resolved the problem.
